THE CHALLENGE
A leader among professional HR associations, SHRM’s corporate web site had a dated, cluttered look and was confusing to navigate. Though its 275,000+ members had moved to tablets and smart phones, it was also not mobile friendly.
Internally, editors found the CMS clunky and unfriendly
MY ROLE
Served as team lead. Interacting with internal and external stakeholders to gauge their design needs. Worked closely with the Project Manager, Information and UX Architects, and Web Developers. Managed designers and external contractors to ensure timely turnaround and a smooth rollout.
Revamped the design, streamlined navigation and adopted a responsive cross-browser, cross-device framework.
Simultaneously migrated the entire site (33,000+ pages) from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2010. Streamlined the site for future migrations and easier upkeep by consolidating 75+ page templates to a mere 10. Integrated Telerik Solutions to provide greater control over editing.
